MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The ball has dropped, the champagne is done, and the parties are over. Want to go out New Year’s Day? Here’s what you can and can’t do (because it’s closed).
On Wednesday, federal, state and county offices will be closed. Also closed are courts, banks and the post office.
The malls will be open on Wednesday.
If you have to do a little last minute grocery shopping, Publix is open but their pharmacies are closed. Winn-Dixie stores will be open regular hours. Their pharmacies will operate from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. New Year’s Day.
Garbage pick up will run as usual in Miami-Dade. In Broward, trash collection will operate on a normal schedule in unicorporated areas of the county. City pick up will depend on the contracted hauler.
On Wednesday, the counties transit buses and trains will operate on a Sunday schedule. This means that weekday only routes, such as the I-95 Dade-Broward Express and the I-95 Express going to Golden Glades, will not be providing service on Jan. 1, 2014.
